Uplighting is the foundation of professional landscape lighting — ground-mounted fixtures aimed upward to reveal trees, palms, hedges, and architectural features after dark. Done right, it creates depth and drama. Done wrong, it creates a flat wash of light that makes every property look the same.
The most important variables are beam spread and fixture placement. Narrow-beam fixtures on vertical subjects like palm trunks and columns create tight columns of light that travel the full height. Wider beams across canopies, hedge panels, and broad wall surfaces create a soft, even wash. Mixing both within a single system creates the layered depth that separates professional results from a basic install.
Placement distance matters as much as beam angle. A fixture placed close to the base of a palm produces a completely different result than one placed several feet away — proximity is one of the most important variables we control. We assess every property carefully before finalizing fixture positions — because the right placement only becomes clear when you understand the space.
